Big Data, as we have come to know it, is set to be a key driver for productivity and growth globally, fostering new industries and products and creating significant competitive advantages for those harnessing its potential. This conference will explore the benefits that data and data analytics can bring to European businesses, the public sector and for wider society, if fostered appropriately. This debate will also be an opportunity to review the European Commission’s communication “Towards a Thriving Data-Driven Economy” and ask to what extent the European regulatory framework will help foster the development of a Big Data ecosystem in Europe.
Sessions at the event will cover:
Maximising the opportunities offered by Big Data
What does data innovation look like?
Protecting user data – the obligations on business to keep user data safe
The European regulatory environment – will it hurt or help data innovation?
